Culture Box has been one of the leading venues in the vast Copenhagen nightlife since its inception in 2005. Located in the city centre, Culture Box can be found near to the King’s Garden. The venue covers 350 m2 across two floors, and whilst having been used for showcases, fashion shows and art-house cinema projects, Culture Box really comes into its own during the regular electronic house club nights. Far from pumping out commercial tunes, you will instead find an eclectic mix of non-commercial music, including techno, house, electro, electronica, dub step, drum and bass, dub, reggae and electronic jazz. Resident DJ’s include Daniel Kaarill, DJ Lab and Haddock.
The party is spread across two floors. On the first floor is a well equipped bar and dance floor, whilst the second floor is the more intimate basement level setting. Both floors feature the Martin Audio Sound System, ensuring that whichever night you attend you will be presented with top of the range sounds.
The entry fee is DKK 70 on Fridays and Saturdays, and only DKK 20 on Thursdays. Student discounts are available upon production of valid ID, where cover charge is reduced to DKK 50 on weekends. Typical drink prices range from DKK 25 for beers, and DKK 10 for shots. Wednesday brings a student night to Culture Box, where the cover of DKK 40 will bring you a night of house and electro, and student friendly drink prices.
The Copenhagen crowd ranges depending on the event, but all in attendance are in the common search for a good time. Check their website for forthcoming events.
