Bars
Despite being far from the States based original home of the blues, Mojo could well be mistaken for one of its American counterparts. Mojo is located very close to Rådhuspladsen square, ideally located for those staying in the downtown area. From the offset, there is a warm atmosphere in Mojo, from the friendly welcome on the door, to the chirpy bar staff waiting to take your order.
The clientele range from old to young, although all share a common interest in the blues. The musicians who play there are equally varied. The majority are Danish based blues players, although there are regular acts hailing from England, Germany and other Scandinavian countries, and of course American musicians.
Entry is free on most nights, although there is a cover charge on the weekends. The music is not strictly limited to the blues, as soul, rock and bluegrass evenings frequent the schedule. The live music generally starts between 21:30 and 22:00, with DJs playing out the night till close.
The bar doesn’t serve anything fancy, but then the focus is really on the music and atmosphere here. A range of whiskeys and beers are available for very reasonable prices. A half liter of beer can be found for around DKR29.
The walls are adorned with signed photos of the variety of musicians who have graced Mojo. For a friendly and relaxed night with a cosmopolitan crowd of blues enthusiasts, Mojo is definitely the night out for you.
Open daily from 20:00 til 05:00
