Husk Flusk - Cafe and Bistro
Copenhagen
International
Huks Fluks is a bistro serving internationally inspired food and is located on the sunny side of the charming Gråbrødretorv square in central Copenhagen. The restaurant is ideally positioned; only a couple of minute walk from Rundetaarn and Strøget shopping street. Diners can sit outside and enjoy sunshine late into the evening on those wonderful Copenhagen summer evenings. When you do move inside, you'll find the interior is bright and cheerful.
The menu features international bistro-style dishes such as generous sandwiches, tender king crab, steamed mussels, fresh fish, steaks, pastas and gourmet burgers. Huks Fluks house specialty is black foot ham that is ripened in the basement and served with toasted bread and mozzarella... an unusual dish not to be missed!
Huks Fluks menu is unique in letting you know how long you can expect to wait for each dish. Many of the dishes can be made in five or ten minutes, so if you are on a tight schedule or don't like to wait around for your food, order one of those. If the food doesn't come on time, your drinks are on the house, which is a pretty generous offer. If it takes twice as long as you though, your meal is free! Although let's hope that never happens.
There are the usual suspects on the drinks menu: juices, coffees, and a decent selection of wines, beers and spirits from around the world.
From the lunch menu, give the Dover Sole from the West Coast (DKK 129) a try, or maybe the signature Sandwich a la Huks Fluks (DKK 69) which should take only five minutes to prepare and is a foccacia bun with goat cheese, baby tomatoes, olives, romaine salad and homemade pesto. In the evening why not try the Swedish Fallow Deer served with steamed wild rice and quinoa (a South American corn meal.) It comes with saffron and white wine marinated pear, sautéed beetroot and cranberry flavored game sauce.
Husk Flusk is a standout if you would like to enjoy some quality bistro dishes in the sunshine in downtown Copenhagen.
