Il Peccato restaurant is located by Axeltorv square, not far from Copenhagen´s Radhuspladsen (City hall square). The restaurant offers diners a fusion of classic and modern Italian cuisine.
They are proud of their open kitchen; there are no walls between guests and the chefs, offering diners the chance to see their food being freshly prepared and cooked. Il Peccato's Italian chefs bring in the freshest ingredients every day to create the food offered by the varied menu.
Il Peccato means 'the sin', and has been decorated by the artists Thyra Hilden and Pio Diaz, who use the leitmotif of fire in their art. The inspiration for the name and the decoration came from Dante's Inferno.
The restaurant has an excellent location in the entertainment district of Copenhagen, not far from Tivoli and the Circus Building.
Being an Italian restaurant, most people are familiar with the kind of food on offer: starters, pastas, pizzas and desserts. Il Peccato doesn't disappoint, and serves these modern classics with style.
Fish Carpaccio of salmon and tuna with avocado salad is a popular starter and costs DKK 135.
A selection of mouthwatering mains await: try the large tortellinis with Parma ham, gorgonzola sauce and pine nuts for DKK 139, or try the cannelloni, oven-baked with beef and foie gras in a béchamel sauce for DKK 129.
Fish and meat are also on offer; the 250 gram beef medallion with truffle butter and seasonal vegetables is particularly luxurious at DKK 299.
There is an exhaustive wine list made up of Italian classics from all the major regions.
Il Peccato restaurant can seat up to 100 and in the summer months, a further 100 on the terrace outside. There is also a counter bar for drinks, coffees and snacks that can also be enjoyed in front of the fire.
