Steakhouse
Rio Bravo with its Western saloon interior is one of the most popular restaurants in Copenhagen, and has been for the last 30 years. The restaurant became famous in 1983, when the former Danish Prime Minister Poul Schlüter urgently phoned the political leader Helge Dohrmann who was having dinner in Rio Bravo, regarding
an important political agreement.
The atmosphere is easy and uncomplicated, the service friendly and the food is excellent. That is, if you are not a vegetarian…
With courses like 400 g. Rio Grande Steak with mixed salad, baked potato with garlic butter and sauce béarnaise for 238 DKK, and the popular Rio Bravo Casserole with pork, veal, beef, sausages and vegetables served with rice or fried potatoes for 159 DKK, the menu here is a real treat for meat eaters.
Rio Bravo seats nearly 200 guests and the kitchen is open until 4 am every day, which makes it a great place for a meal before, or even after, your night out. You can also spend the whole evening here.
Leave your horse outside, get in one of the authentic cowboy saddles at the bar, order yourself a drink and enjoy the unusual ambience with old kerosene lamps, rustic wooden tables, red napkins, candles and photos with Wild West motives on the walls.
